Account & Data Deletion Request
We respect your privacy and your right to delete your account. This page provides the supported way to request deletion and explains the scope of that request.
⚠️ Important Information
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. A deletion request removes your StrangerVoice account record and the personal data associated with that account, subject to the limited retention described below.
How to Request Account Deletion
Follow these steps to delete your account:
- Send an email to our support team with your deletion request
- Include the email address associated with your account so we can verify and locate it
- We will process your request within 30 days
- You will receive confirmation once deletion is complete

What the Request Covers
✅ Account Data Scheduled for Permanent Deletion:
- Account information: The email address and username linked to your account and your stored password credentials
- Account-linked profile data: Profile information stored for your account, if any
- Account-linked preferences and history: Any preferences, call or match metadata, or subscription-status records that the service stores against your account
🔒 Data Outside the Account Record:
- Voice conversations: Audio is transmitted in real time and is not recorded or stored, so there is no stored voice recording to delete
- Chat messages: Messages are not retained on our servers after delivery
- Third-party records: Google Play subscription and payment records are controlled by Google and are not deleted by a StrangerVoice account-deletion request
📝 Note About Premium Subscriptions
If you have an active premium subscription, deleting your account will NOT automatically cancel your subscription with Google Play. You must cancel your subscription separately through the Google Play Store before requesting account deletion.
To cancel subscription: Open Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → StrangerVoice → Cancel
Data Retention and Completion
⏱️ Timeline:
- Request received: We will acknowledge receipt within 3 business days
- Identity verification: We may ask you to verify control of the account email or provide the username associated with the request
- Processing time: Account deletion will be completed within 30 days after verification
- Backup retention: Residual copies may remain in disaster-recovery backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten; they are not used to restore a deleted account
- Legal retention: Records that must be retained for fraud prevention, security, tax, accounting, or other legal obligations are kept only for the required period
What Happens After Deletion?
Once your account is deleted:
- ✅ Your account will no longer be available for login
- ✅ Account-linked data covered above will be removed from active systems
- ✅ You will receive a confirmation email when processing is complete
- ✅ If you want to use StrangerVoice again, you must create a new account
Account Deactivation
StrangerVoice does not currently offer a separate temporary-deactivation process. If you want the service to stop retaining your account, use the deletion-request process above.
